Day of Service

Event Details

Come to the studio from 12:30pm-6pm

We will be doing service projects to help our community. This is meant for kids and for adults. So, please, everyone come to create and serve with us!

This is for 4th graders on up. IF your child is under the age of 12 and is not in the MDIS Service Club, please plan on staying.

Coral Reef Encounter: We are making Seagrass from trash for a Coral Reef installation at MacGills Common Pool in Columbia, Maryland. “Swim, snorkel, or float through a magical world of 3-dimensional fish and coral created by local volunteers.” https://www.facebook.com/768936066794336/posts/save-those-dates-july-20-21-2019-for-the-first-ever-simulated-coral-reef-at-macg/769263513428258/

ChangeMaker Challenge: Safe and Beautiful Bus Stop: Painting rocks with positive messages and creating unique creatures for our the Pet Rock Garden at a bus stop shelter and garden that will be installed in Elkridge. @ChangeMakerErin

#20MinuteCleanUp: We will venture into the neighborhood and pick up trash and recycling for 20 minutes. (inspired by Howard County’s Live Green Howard)

Card Making: We will make fun cards that will be paired with tie-dye bandanas from my stash. These are given to The Casey Cares Foundation and to GratefuHeads. www.Caseycares.org and www.Gratefulheads.net

We have a few other projects that we may be able to work on too. It all depends on how many volunteers are able to come help out.

Please bring a peanut free lunch. Also, bring a peanut free snack to share.

Be dressed for adventure.
