“Hoodstock is a grassroots music festival with its roots based on the rock/folk music scene of the late ’60s and early ’70s mixed with contemporary music. Originally founded in 2004 as a neighborhood event, Hoodstock is now a major fundraiser to benefit Unified Community Connections and all the programs they provide to advance the independence of children and adults with disabilities.

This year’s SWEET 16 event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the American Visionary Art Museum from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Hoodstock is a casual, family-friendly event where guests “Just Say No to Black-Tie and Yes to Tie-Dye” while enjoying live music, good food, beer, wine, plenty of raffles and a silent auction all for a modest ticket price. General admission is $45 in advance or $50 at the door. Sponsorship opportunities are also available and range from $300-$15,000.

Local band Roses n Rust will headline this year’s event and cover both classic and modern artists. In addition, local celebrity O.J. Brigance, senior advisor for player development for the Baltimore Ravens, will present this year’s Samuel A. Tucker Memorial Can Do Award.”
