“This is another great example of a fun, creative and colorful business that will be a great addition to the already arts-centered community of Long Reach,” said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. “Erin’s entrepreneurial spirit and passion for giving back to the community fits in with the direction and goals for Long Reach Rising – a premier hub for the arts, STEM, and entrepreneurism.”

Cassell’s favorite part of the business is teaching, she says, so lately she’s been spending more time hosting tie-dyeing workshops at her studio. These hands-on events are frequently more than just art classes; many become unique team building experiences for assemblages ranging from youth sports teams to employee groups.

The events she puts on continue to attract large numbers of people, and there are always orders to fill. She thanks her teammates who helped her so much along the way.

She’s been researching tie-dye techniques for years, even flying to New Mexico and California to meet people who have been tie-dyeing for decades.

About Erin

Erin launched Roll Up N Dye about a decade after earning her Theater Arts Degree from Western Maryland College (McDaniel College). Leading tie dye workshops combines her love of the arts with her love of community service. In 2020, her company was selected to participate in Howard County’s Long Reach Rising Initiative. Now the home base for this hub of happiness is located in Long Reach Village Center in Columbia, MD.

In August 2021, Erin joined AmeriCorps for a year of service. So, in addition to creating art with you, she served full-time as Volunteer Coordinator for the Do Good Institute at the University of Maryland in College Park.

She loves leading workshops where art serves as a vehicle to empower people to choose kindness towards themselves and others. Creating together allows participants to let loose and have fun. Plus there is always an opportunity for folks to give back to the community through their art. Erin has a blast spreading rainbows and sunshine with everyone!

Our team would love to come lead a workshop for you!

I used Roll Up N Dye for a company team building event and I can’t say enough great things about the company and the owner, Erin Cassell. She was such a delight to work with and the team had the best time creating tie-dye shirts; men and women alike. They also made handmade cards and hand dyed bandanas for hospital patients (way to give back!).

If you are looking for a great corporate team building event or a fun party for kids or adults then you definitely need to try Roll Up N Dye!!

What an awesome day! Thanks for making our Girl Scout tie dye party such a blast! The girls enjoyed every minute of it and didn’t want to leave! We are all so excited to see what our shirts look like and we will be sure to send a picture! Thanks again – we will definitely be back.

We have had Erin/Roll Up ‘N Dye come to our last 2 Patient Appreciation Events for our office and everyone has loved it! Kids and adults get a kick out of making their own special tie dyed shirt. Not only that but Erin is amazing at what she does and makes everyone feel like an expert in the tie dying process. No one works harder and makes more beautiful art! I highly recommend her for any event you may have coming up!

I took my two kids, 5 and 7, to make some shirts with Erin and her staff. We had a blast! While getting to put stains on shirt intentionally is in itself a treat for the kids, everything from the atmosphere to Erin’s playful spirit made the afternoon really special. I’ll be bringing them back to make gifts for family and friends.

Erin runs a top notch tie dye workshop with all the trimmings. She arrives early, sets up, covers what’s necessary to protect, is very well prepared and is a terrific hands-on teacher with kids and adults alike. We have enlisted her services twice and hope to again soon. Erin and her staff are terrific and I highly recommend her workshops. Way groovy 🙂

The kids had a blast at your workshop on April 1st and the t shirts turned out very good. The kids were proudly showing off their designs to their friends and several people were quite surprised with the different designs that they had made. I would highly recommend your workshop and /or parties and have always had a great time!
